Frequently asked questions

What containers should I bring to a market?

Any container/bottle with a lid is fine.

What packaging will delivered products arrive in?

Recycled paper bags, sanitised reused plastic tubs and for liquids reused plastic bottles. Glass bottles are available to buy with a pump or spray are available too.

On a repeat delivery please leave any empties out for us to collect and reuse.

What if I'm not in when you deliver?

Let us know where to place the delivery in the comments section of your order or call/text 07823 889088. If we have to leave the delivery out we'll make sure its in a bag to keep the weather out!

What about allergies/intolerance?

Whilst we do dispense with clean scoops and containers we cannot guarantee allergen free.

All products which contain allergens are noted in the product description on the website and clearly labelled on containers when you buy at market.

If you're unsure please ask 🙂

What products are organic?

We would ideally provide all organic products however cost prevents this at present as it is a priority is to make refills affordable. We will expand our organic range in future.

What is the vegan range?

All products are vegan with the exception of chocolate covered nuts and fruit.

How much is enough?

Weights of items can be tricky to convert into how much you may normally buy from a supermarket.

  • Pasta, rice and lentils - usually come in 500g or 1kg
  • Flour and sugar - 1kg
  • Cereal - from 250g to 500g bags and boxes, porridge is often 1 kg
  • Fruit and nuts - can vary - usually in 200g - 500g
  • Seeds - 100g
  • Laundry liquid - 1 litre or 1.5 litre
  • Shampoo - 400ml up to 750ml for larger bottle
  • Hand soap - usual pump dispenser is 250ml bottle

If you are free to come to market we can show you the size by gram/ml and you can buy as little or as much as you'd like.

How does the price compare to supermarket shopping?

We try very hard to make the products affordable.

Tesco offers a range of granola from 75p - 1.25p per 100g. Our Fruity Granola is 50p per 100g.

When it is possible to buy in bulk, without the packaging we can pass on the savings.

Prices will vary depending on the cost from the wholesaler and may change.

How do I know the best before date?

Best before end (BBE) dates will be written on any deliveries. Any items from market won't be but all BBEs for the current batch will be on the product on the website and marked on the containers. If you want to have the BBE date listed on any items from market please ask.
